Purpose of Group

To agree local comparative context data and incorporate national performance indicators (when agreed).

Activity of Group
Including Position Statement
The Group has met on three occasions to finalise the revision of the previous work on comparative context data which was undertaken by the South of England PEPs' Group and to incorporate Activity Indicators derived from the DfEE's Working Party report on the Role of Educational Psychologists.

This enabled us to carry out a first round of comparison by sharing the data, which lead to a further refinement of the spreadsheet-based data collection form.

The next phase is to generate "outcome" data, which would enable E.P. Services to compare themselves with each other in terms of effectiveness. A start was made at our last meeting by asking N. Knapman of the SW Regional SEN Partnership to collate and present information relating to national attempts to deal with this issue. Further developments will depend on the progress of the national group and will involve incorporating nationally agree outcome indicators into the local data collection format.

LEA Membership BANES, Bournemouth, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Oxford, Plymouth, Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Torbay.
