Purpose of Group

Southwest consists of mainly rural LEAs for whom home to school transport is a major demand led activity.

The group focused on producing 6 generic indicators of performance.

Activity of Group
Including Position Statement

All SW LEAs consulted. Proposal produced for a number of key performance indicators. LEAs then consulted again and the indicators listed below adopted.

The group completed its work in 2001.

Five Key Indicators
  • Unit cost per pupil with mainstream separate from SEN pupil seat utilization rate.
  • Number of requests for route alteration against total number of routes.
  • Number of tenders per contract; average; highest; lowest frequency.
  • Number of complaints as a % of number of pupils transported.
  • Number of vehicles in daily use.
  • Seat belt policy: % of seats with belts fitted.
