To consider suitable Benchmark Performance Indicators for the EWS Service. The task has been included 9in the normal working meetings of the SW EWS Group.

There are 7 authorities that have attended this group. The first meeting took place on 27 September 1999 and there have been 3 further meetings since.

The group has worked hard to both identify and gather the basic information that was necessary to consider the creation of the most suitable Benchmarks for the Service. A small working party is meeting in January 2002 to finalise the PIs and arrange the means for collecting the comparable data.
